Hey Kids...

So, i've been threatening to put together a side project for years, and I've finally done it! We have Kelly Di Martino on Keys, Evan Slamka from Marjorie Fair on Bass and the Alesis SR-16 on Drums. It's a world away from King Straggler, (don't worry, the band is still in tact, Straggling on). I won't describe it, I'll let y'all create your own definitions, (if you come up with a good one I'll use it in my next announcement), but it's got a good beat, you can dance to it.. We're playing on Wednesday night at my favorite dive bar in Hollywood, Crane's, at 10 o'clock sharp. It's free, drinks are cheap and the people are friendly. Hope y'all can make it out, it's kind of an special night for me and all support is much appreciated...

Who? Rodney Eastman, (Don't have a band name yet)
What? Hmm.. Sad songs you can dance to?
Where? Crane's Hollywood Bar and Grill; 1611 El Centro Blvd, Hollywood CA, 90028
When? Wednesday, March 7th at 10:00 PM SHARP!
Why? You gotta try new things every once in a while...

Thanks

I'm told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos (all angles) of the rock. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Hey Kids...

"One door closes and another opens."

King Straggler will be playing a rare all acoustic gig this Saturday, Dec 16th at Highland Grounds, 742 N. Highland Ave. This is gonna be a bitter-sweet show folks. Sweet, cause Highland Grounds is where King Straggler played their first show ever, back in the old days, before they had a drummer or bass player, so it'll be nice to play for an evening in the bands original incarnation. But as it began, so shall it end... (here comes the 'bitter' part). This will be one of the last evenings that Highland Grounds will be hosting live music. A venue which has supported great independant singer-songwriters for well over a decade and hosted one of the most consistent weekly open mikes ,(and lets not forget, gave the Straggs their start), will sadly be adopting a new formula that unfortunately will no longer feature live music. So come on down this Saturday and see where it all began and celebrate the end of a great era. Join us for the end of this first chapter, we're all real excited to see what happens next...

Who? King Straggler
What? A final tribute to our roots
Where? Highland Grounds 742 N. Highland Ave. L.A. CA (just N. of Melrose)
When? Saturday, Dec 16th, 9:30 (believe it!)
Why? Moment of Silence for Highland Grounds...Then we're gonna swing it babe!

See y'all there...

I’m told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It’s quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos (all angles) of the rock. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it’s not. It’s actually painted on the rock too.
