Buckley in Ocean's 13, Stiver as John the Evangelist, & Toles' Pirates of Ghost Island

H.R.H. Crown Prince Richard Buckley has been working as a casino dealer on Ocean's 13 at the Warner Brothers Lot in Burbank for the past month. He, Stephen Weisbaum, and others have had a great time with the cast which includes Deadwood's Michael Harney (Steve) as the Blackjack Pit Boss. And Elliot Gould, a fan of Richard's father, introduced Buck to George Clooney which has made the experience a lot of fun.

Mark McCaw emails:

Hey Everyone,

Hope you are all well. I have had a good time the last 6 weeks: first the team that I am on went to the Bonneville Salt Flats located in Utah, in the middle of August, and we got our driver in the 200MPH club and the 300MPH club. We went in the high 200's in the gas class and then we ran on fuel at 325 MPH--not bad for a little 4cyl GM engine. George Poteet is our driver and is very well known in the hot rod circuit. Then on the 16th of September, my wife surprised me with a 60th birthday party with about 110 of my good friends - including Marilyn Monroe. I tried to take her home, but the wife said "no way," so she got the final word. Then I returned to Bonneville at the end of September and we set a new international record with the car at 326MPH.  Also, Steve Fossett, the famous around the world hot air balloonist, flew in and took our car on three runs down the salt not to shabby either: first run at 229, second run at 256, and the last run at 298MPH. Not bad for the first time behind the wheel.

Good luck to all you guys and hope to see ya all soon,
Mark,,,,, Schitz..

Carl Virden as Thomas Clemson

Hello All,

I managed to land a part in a short historical film about the founding of Clemson University. I played Thomas Green Clemson at age 80. The film was shot in South Carolina at Clemson University in the mansion of John C. Calhoun who was Clemson's father-in-law. What a great time I had while I was there!

Cheers,
Carl Virden

A detective (Adrien Brody) uncovers unexpected links to his own personal life as he probes the mysterious death of "Superman'' actor George Reeves (Ben Affleck) in 1959. A possible affair between the actor and Toni Mannix (Diane Lane), the wife of a studio executive (Bob Hoskins), might reveal the truth.

Deadwood Farewell - For Now

A bunch of the DW gang gathered at several locations for the Season Finale:

and...

Arrrrggg, Mr. Dixon!

Mike Dixon (Gunshop Owner/Bella Capper/and "I don't how many" other occupations on Deadwood) has a new gig.

This is what he looked like then:

...and his new muttonchop look for Pirates 3 where he's the stand-in and body double for actor Kevin McNally who plays the first-mate on the Black Pearl, Mr. Gibbs, in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

On Mike's first day on Pirates, he accidentally (??) climbed aboard Johnny Depp's private ferry and cruised out to the anchored Black Pearl with him. Now doesn't that just sound like something our Mr. Dixon would do?

Quite a few guys from DW are working on Pirates and here are a few shots from the set with Dixon, Gary Sokolowski, Billy Beach, John Stapp and others.

Deadwood 33: Amateur Night

As Deadwood is overrun by Hearst's men, Bullock issues contingency plans to Martha. Wu, caught in a Pinkerton stampede, delivers a cryptic message to Swearengen; it takes Burns, of all people, to decipher it. Barrett makes Merrick pay for embarrassing Hearst in The Pioneer; Morgan Earp calls out one of the "Pistoleros"; Commissioner Jarry arrives from Yankton to solicit Hearst; Aunt Lou gets some bad news; and Joannie survives an encounter with her former boss. As night falls, Langrishe mines Deadwood's talent pool with an amateur-night performance in front of his future theater, financed in part by a loan from Alma's bank.
