WGA Nominates Deadwood's Writing Team

The Writers Guild of America, east & west, announced their nominations for outstanding achievement in television writing - 2005. The Deadwood Team received a nod in one of the WGA's new categories: Dramatic Series. This category is unique in that it recognizes both the entire team and the entire season.

Nominees for the new category of best writing team on a dramatic series include "Deadwood," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Six Feet Under" and "The West Wing"

2006 Writers Guild Awards Television and Radio Nominees Announced

For the first time in the history of the guilds, three new television award categories will recognize overall excellence in writing of episodic series. These new awards — Outstanding Achievement in Writing for a Dramatic Series, Comedy Series, and New Series — will be presented to all the writers of the winning series. The nominated series in these categories were voted on by the memberships of both guilds.
