Wu are We?
A Weblog for Deadwood's Background Players

Wu "Who" are We?
Collectively, we can design a bridge, build a motorcycle,
practice California law, edit film, play a host of instruments, and even
discuss the post-Pericles Athenian experience as it applies to the
contemporary lack of Hegelian dialectic synthesis for true
universal progress, if need be, among other things.
We're a diverse group, and as this weblog progresses, we'll introduce some of the great guys & gals involved and many of the wonderful talents and stories they possess. Beyond the obvious examples of actors and the plays, shorts, and independent films some are involved with, we have writers, artists, photographers, musicians, lawyers, war heroes, mechanical engineers, true cowboys, graphic designers, etc., who, to a man (we have some very fine ladies too), have great respect for the show.
This blog is way for us to let one another know what's happening in Background Land and what we're individually doing off the ranch--it's a way to communicate with and support one another. As well, it offers us an opportunity to interact with WWW users in various ways.

Sam told me to check it out.
You may remember me at "the wood" Sam introduced me as "Lilybob". I loaned you the blue chair one day about three weeks ago. This thing with Sam's trip is going to be a real hoot. I told him that I'd love to go, if I could afford to.
I'd like to see some other activities in which our guys are involved.
I'm currently involved in a play production at the Palmdale Playhouse, written by one of the playhouse staff, who is also a talented performer,as well as a gifted musician.
We will be performing the play the last weekend in October.

Ah yes, the blue chair with the foot-rest--I remember it well. And I agree with wanting to know what other activities the BG guys are involved in; it is a funtion of this site. Please let us know the exact dates of the performances, the phone # and address of the Palmdale Playhouse, the name of the play with the names and info of others involved, ticket price, and/or anything else you can think of?
For BGs posting info here: Who, what, when, where, and how provide complete info on such activities--as a guide so to speak. If you have photos, flyers, podcasts, video, etc., email what you can, or go to ourmedia.org and store it, then let me know where the file can be accessed.

Thanks for the help in getting the information about Sam's trip out. I just finished talking to him. He is in Houston tonight. He has 175 miles to go tomorrow.
I hope our efforts today will be fruitful. Also, Shane is a real good man and a sincere individual.
Thank you for the help with the playbill too. I am still having a great time delving into the blog. thank you for that too. Keep up the fine work. I'm looking forward to the next update, as well as our next day on the set. Be well.

I made it safely back to Dayton OH the day before Thanksgiving and have enjoyed visiting with family and friends. I start the first of 25 appearances as Santa, on Dec 3, at the Wright-Patt AFB Officers' Club Breakfast with Santa from 9 am to 1 pm. I will also be at the Base Exchange (BX) from 12-4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec 18. I will be at only one shopping center this year, Town and Country in Kettering on Dec 22 (4-8 pm) and Dec 23 and 24 (12-4 pm). Tell everyone there on the set that I surely miss them all.
