The Sound, The Kid, and BHGE

I think almost everyone at the Ranch knows of Bob Wyld’s joyful humor, Rayne Davis’ creative artwork, and both of their musical talents, but did you know that Bob and Rayne have launched a small entertainment company to produce and distribute New Music from New Artists

Bob Wyld: The Deadwood Kid / Black Hills Gold Entertainment     Rayne Davis: Actor / Musician / Artist

Well, here’s your first look at “Black Hills Gold Entertainment
via a personal invitation from “The Kid” himself.

This is Bob Wyld, and “I WANT YOU” to visit
BLACK HILLS GOLD ENTERTAINMENT
“HOME OF THE DEADWOOD SOUND”

There you will find out about “The Deadwood Kid,” some of the Great Music in production, and a few of our future plans. As well, you can listen to sample tracks from my first music CD release in homage to one of the roughest western towns and periods in the history of the USA: Deadwood, South Dakota.

Deadwood Magazine

Recently, Deadwood Magazine (Deadwood, South Dakota) changed from a bimonthly, semi-color publication to a full color monthly and quickly doubled circulation.

In an exchange of emails with Dustin Floyd, Executive Editor of the Magazine, he mentioned some of their plans for upcoming issues, and although I don’t want to spill the beans here, I think I can say that if you’re a fan of the show you may want to keep an eye on this publication over the next few months. As well, their website now includes several articles from each issue–their archives will prove to be a valuable source of local information.

From their website:
Deadwood Magazine, founded in 1991, delivers quality features on the history, recreation, art, culture and characters of the American West every month. Articles are especially focused on the town of Deadwood and the Black Hills region.

Here’s a link to an interesting article on Deadwood’s Chinatown with fascinating research info such as the excerpt below:

GOLD MOUNTAIN:
While the Chinese immigrants who flooded into the United States during the latter half of the 19th century came from a culture utterly foreign to the American Frontier, they had the same reasons for migrating as most white pioneers: gold. The bloody Taiping Rebellion, which claimed upwards of 20 million lives between 1851 and 1864, sandwiched by the Opium Wars with Britain, created miserable living conditions for many in China. News of California’s 1849 gold rush infused hope into the hearts of the common people, who began referring to America as gam saan, or gold mountain.

Marc Meadow Offers to Setup Websites

So, You Want A Web Presence,
But You’re Not Sure How To Make It Happen!

http://www.meadow.ws

Mark Meadow, a fellow BP, has offered to help setup a site once you’ve decided where it will be hosted.

You can have any Website Hosting Company establish a domain name and site. Here are a few: Web.com, BraveNet.comFortunecity.com, and iPowerWeb.com, or search Google, Yahoo, etc… for Web Hosting.

Once you’ve chosen a place, Marc will help you setup the site–here’s his email:

I am offering to do a simple website (homepage, maybe one more) consisting of text and some graphics for any regular background player on Deadwood.  The web space must already exist (i.e. myspace.com, AOL, or other internet provider which usually gives subscribers space), the text must be in digital form (no typing) and pictures must be JPG’s or gif’s. I will scan one or two pics if necessary.  If anyone is interested, they can find me on the set, email me or call.  My web site is at http://www.meadow.ws/

Weblogs (Blogs) are a fantastic tool of self-expression through self-publishing, and they can be used in many different ways.
