J Lo & Paris Married!

John LoBiondo, our fellow BP, and the lovely Paris Marie
will offer their sacred vows in holy matrimony today.

The nuptials will take place in Westlake Village and the new bride and groom will be honeymooning at —-  John won’t tell us where they’ll be, but when we find out, we’ll post it here with the phone number to the room so everyone can call and personally congratulate them–or maybe you can just leave them your best wishes in the comments section below.

All kidding aside,

Congratulations John and Paris!

…and John, send us those wedding photos.

AFI HONORS HBO’s DEADWOOD

Sixth Annual AFI Almanac Names 10 Most Outstanding
Motion Pictures and Television Programs of the Year

The following is the American Film Institute’s Press Release:

NEWS RELEASE
AFI AWARDS 2005
OFFICIAL SELECTIONS ANNOUNCED
LOS ANGELES, December 11, 2005—The American Film Institute (AFI) today announced the official selections of AFI AWARDS 2005, AFI’s almanac which records the year’s most outstanding achievements in film and television, as well as significant moments in the world of the moving image.
AFI AWARDS is the only form of national recognition that honors the film and television creative ensemble as a whole—those people in front of and behind the camera—acknowledging the collaborative nature of film and television. Unlike any other film or television award currently given, the AFI AWARDS 2005 selections were made through AFI’s unique 13-person jury process in which scholars, artists, critics and AFI trustees discuss, debate and determine the most outstanding achievements of the year, as well as provide a detailed rationale for each selection. Two AFI juries—one for motion pictures and one for television—convened in Los Angeles for two days of deliberation. The jurors have remained confidential until today. (Complete list is below.) AFI will honor the creative ensembles for each of the honorees at a luncheon on Friday, January 13, 2006, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The jury rationales for each selection will be revealed at this event.
“AFI is proud to honor these 20 collaborative teams. As the institute recognizes and celebrates excellence across the century, these honorees will be part of the record that documents America’s enduring cultural legacy,” commented Jean Picker Firstenberg, AFI’s Director and CEO. Paul Dennis, the host of ”The Real Deadwood Podcast” sends his regards to all the gang on the set via his recent email to the Deadwood Blog. Paul is also interested in doing a few broadcasts with some of the BG.  The Real Deadwood Podcast is a variety show from the real Deadwood in the Black Hills of South Dakota for fans of the award-winning HBO Deadwood series; it combines news, interviews and entertainment from both Deadwoods. The site also has some great pictures from when many of the show’s cast were in South Dakota and from when he and his wife, Mary Kopco (the director of the Adams Museum & House–which rightfully earns mention in the show’s credits), were in Los Angeles on the set and at Paramount Studios.  And there’s music from both the Sacred Cowboys and King Straggler as well as original. Check out his Great Site!
